Installation and use
These instructions supplement the guide supplied with your set. They explain fitting and checking the tactile markings.
Before fitting
- Check that the label is intended for your exact appliance model and that its markings correspond to the controls.
- Switch off the appliance before cleaning and fitting.
- Continue to follow the appliance manufacturer’s operating and safety instructions. Signivio provides tactile guidance and does not replace those instructions.
- Do not use a squeegee, card or other hard tool. These may damage the raised lines and Braille dots.
Fitting the label
- Clean the surfaceClean the application surface using the supplied alcohol wipe. Follow its directions and the appliance manufacturer’s surface-care instructions. Allow the surface to dry completely.
- Remove the backingPlace the label tactile side down on your hand. Slowly and carefully peel the white backing upwards. Keep the label as flat as possible and do not fold it.
- Align and applyAlign the label with the dial centred in the opening. Check that it is horizontal and the markings correspond to the controls. Apply carefully from the centre outwards.
- Press down with your fingertipsGently press the label down from the centre outwards. Press the edges lightly. Carefully push any trapped air bubbles towards the outside.
Before first use
Check that every marking is correctly assigned and all controls can still be operated freely. If you are unsure, have another person check the alignment. Use only the reference plate supplied for your appliance to interpret the Braille numbers.
If the label is damaged or comes loose
Do not rely on markings if the label has shifted, is peeling off or has missing tactile elements. Contact Signivio for assessment and a possible replacement.
