Privacy policy
This notice explains how we process personal data when you visit this website or make an enquiry. Last updated: 16 September 2026.
1. Data controller
Wollhofer GmbH, Nedelmannstraße 4, 45139 Essen, Germany.
Phone: +49 201 207218
Privacy enquiries: mail@wollhofer.de
2. Website visits and hosting
We use Profihost as the hosting provider for this website. Accessing a website involves processing connection data necessary to deliver it. This includes your IP address, request time, requested address, HTTP status and browser or operating-system information where transmitted by your browser.
The purpose is to deliver and secure the website and diagnose faults. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, reflecting our legitimate interest in secure, reliable operation. Where required, hosting providers act under a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR.
Connection data is retained only as long as necessary for operation, security or investigation of specific faults. Longer retention is limited to a specific security incident or a legal obligation.
3. Enquiries and pre-contractual consultation
When you contact us, we process your name, email address, any telephone number you provide, appliance details and your enquiry. Required fields help us identify and answer your request and assess technical feasibility. Other details are optional. Without the required contact details, we cannot process a form enquiry; you may alternatively contact us by telephone.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a potential contract. General enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in responding to your contact.
The form sends your enquiry to the appropriate Signivio mailbox at Wollhofer GmbH. It does not create a separate enquiry database on the web server. Access is limited to authorised staff and necessary technical service providers.
4. Optional vision-related information
Information about your vision may constitute health data under Article 9 GDPR. Providing it is entirely optional. Please share only what helps with the design, such as easily recognised contrasts. Diagnoses, medical records and insurance numbers are not needed.
If you use the dedicated field, we process this information for consultation and individual design solely with your explicit consent under Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) GDPR. We document the applicable consent-text version and submission time together with the enquiry.
You may withdraw consent at any time for the future via info@signivio.de, info@signivio.com or the company contact above. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You can always make an enquiry without vision-related information.
5. Photographs and subsequent orders
The initial enquiry form does not accept photo uploads. If needed for the design, we will separately request a control-panel photograph with a ruler or tape measure. Please include only the appliance and measurement reference, without people or private documents. We will agree the next transfer step with you.
An order requires additional contract and delivery details. Appliance-specific layouts may be retained for later reproduction; medical information is generally not needed for this. The form does not automatically share information with an insurer. Any such disclosure requires a separately established legal basis and an agreed process.
6. Preventing abuse
The enquiry form uses a signed token and request limits to prevent abuse. A keyed, non-directly-reversible value derived from the IP address, counters and expiry times are stored temporarily. Request limits expire after one hour; tokens used to prevent duplicate sends expire after no more than 24 hours. Expired entries are removed during the next form processing operation. These records contain no enquiry content.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is protecting the website and our communications from automated abuse. No external CAPTCHA services are used.
7. Cookies and external content
In its intended configuration, this website uses no cookies, analytics or marketing services. Fonts, images and scripts are served locally. No third-party maps, videos or social-media content is loaded automatically. A cookie-consent banner is therefore not planned for this configuration.
You can customise the page under “Display settings”. Only if you enable “Remember settings on this device” is your selection saved in localStorage in your browser. The selection is not sent to us. Reset or disabling the remember option deletes it.
8. Retention
Enquiries are retained for as long as needed to process them and conduct the subsequent consultation. Once a matter is closed and no other retention purpose applies, the data is deleted. Contract and business records may be subject to statutory retention periods. Health-related information is not retained for the same duration as invoices solely for that reason; it is deleted when its purpose ends or consent is withdrawn, unless another lawful retention ground applies.
9. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). Consent may be withdrawn at any time for the future.
Right to object: Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object under Article 21 GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority for North Rhine-Westphalia is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen. www.ldi.nrw.de.
10. Further information
No automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place. No deliberate transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area is planned for this website. If additional services are introduced, this notice will be updated before they are used.
